About Me

My photo
Over the years, I've grown to learn that I'm thankful for all things the Lord has bestowed upon me, both in plenty and in want, as I know that even "times of testing" are tools He uses to refine our character and put us in position to better receive and appreciate Him and the good and abundant things He has for us, pressed down, shaken together, and over-flowing. It’s now 2012, a lot has transpired in the last 4 yrs., and I've developed my own photography business that stands on "Quality without Compromise." It's called Sandra Koster Photography, and you can find me at my website, and on Facebook, where I have both a Page and a Group by the same name. My Mission Statement: To bring to you and your families the essence of the moment, those treasures in time that are memorialized by the awesome invention of the camera. There is no part of God's creation, from the moon to the molecule, on land or under the sea, no animal, plant or bug too big or too small for my attentions. From inland, to the slopes of the Rocky Mountains, to the country, to the jungle, to the shores of the tropical seas I pledge quality work, without compromise.

Underwater Marriage Proposal at Blue Grotto

Surprise underwater marriage proposal. On Saturday morning, July 27, 2019, at 7:30 a.m., I pretended to be the dive site photographer in need of new images for the site website. I then solicited the modeling services of Joseph & Allison under the guise that my dive buddy had car troubles and would not be able to make the shoot. Allison thought it strange, but went along with it. All I needed was for Virgil to make a guest appearance during the 30" I had available to do this dive, so that we could be on a platform feeding the fish and the site mascot while Joseph wrote on his slate the critical question: "Allison, will you marry me, Yes or Yes?" I equipped them both with containers of turtle food. It all went off without a hitch, praise God. I was the first one in the water, and Virgil came right to me. With that, we hustled down to the 10 foot platform to feed them. As Allison was entranced with the affections of Miss Virgil, Joseph unknowingly crept in from her right side, on bent knee. With slate written on, he proceeded to pull out a box with her magnificent diamond ring in it, to seal the deal. Allison was greatly surprised, and scrambled like a little fish to accept his proposal! What a glorious site to witness. We then surfaced for a few moments to regroup and embrace the moment. Upon surfacing, there were a few dozen instructors with their students observing the dive site. I announced that this was an underwater marriage proposal, and that "she said, Yes"! All clapped and cheered! What a wonderful memory this young gal, along with her beloved, now has to re-live during her lifetime of marriage! Hallelujah! Divers: Joseph Hemmert groom to be, Allison Tucker bride to be, and Sandra Koster, Photographer.

Blogger has changed!!

Oh no! Google+ now wants to have us switch our Blogger account to Google+, just like they did with YouTube accounts, and now everything is a real mess!!! Why can't they leave well enough alone?? If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Now I can't figure out how to edit or post via my desktop. Thankfully I have an app on my phone whereby all functionality is not lost.

Christmas 2014

Spent the day with my two dive buddies, Mauricio Restrepo, and Denis Mercier, diving Ginnie Springs on Christmas Eve.

As usual, we had great fun, and did a little spring cleanup too.

First 3 Official Full Cave dives

Wow! Had the privileged opportunity to join "the master", Instructor Lamar Hires, with 2 of his Cave Rescue students, on their dives into Peacock1, Wed. Dec. 10th, 2014.

All I can say is Wow, what beautiful adventure that left me wanting more. I'm now doing my online studies for Intro to Cave, and will soon continue my "in water" training with Lamar.

Control, Alt, Delete

I just read a post on a friend's Facebook wall that reminded me of this paper that I wrote for a Philosophy class 18 years ago.

So, on the theme of reincarnation, here we go again! ;-),
